Sadie Hoag

Sadie Hoag, 90, of Battle Creek passed away Wednesday September 7, 2011 at Lifespan Good Samaritan Hospice Residence. She was born on May 13, 1921 in Erie, PA to Eli and Sophie (Durockvich) Opich. Sadie was united in marriage to Donald Hoag, he preceded her in death in 1986. She was employed by the Kellogg Company and Golden Crust Bakery. She is survived by a son, Doran D. (Patricia) Hoag, of Cadillac, MI; a daughter, Cathy J. (Dave) Tillitson, of Portage, MI; four grandchildren, five great grandchildren, a brother, Fred (Kay) Opich, of Battle Creek, and a sister, Stella Goodacre, of Battle Creek. She was also preceded in death by a brother, Joseph Opich, and two sisters, Mary Williamson and Ann Crane. Sadie enjoyed golfing, bowling, and watching old black and white movies. She loved spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Family will receive friends from 2 pm to 4 pm and 6 pm to 8 pm Friday September 9, 2011 at the Richard A. Henry Funeral Home where services will be held 11 am Saturday with The Very Reverend Lawrence Bacik of St. Elias Eastern Orthodox Church officiating. Memorial contributions may be given to St. Elias Eastern Orthodox Church.
