Kenneth L. Bell, age 82 of Battle Creek, died Monday, July 2, 2012 at Calhoun County Medical Care Facility. He was born August 20, 1929 in Battle Creek, Michigan the son of Elden and Martha Sarah (Nash) Bell. Ken graduated from Battle Creek Central High School then served in the U.S. Army from December 1, 1950 to October 15, 1956. He retired from the Kellogg Company where he had worked for over 30 years and was a member of the Kellogg 25 Year Club. Ken made many appearances as Tony Tiger at company functions over the years. He was a member of Maple United Methodist Church, Life Member of Masonic Lodge #12 F. & A.M.; and member of the Pennfield Lions Club where he had served as President and Zone Chairman. On January 15, 1961 Ken was married to Nancy (Williams), who preceded him in death on May 28, 2012. He was also preceded by his parents and one brother, Burl. Surviving are his children: Jerry L. (Jamie) Bell of Bellevue and Tina M. Schulte of Battle Creek; six grandchildren: Jordan Moore, Kenneth Bell, Jake Moore, Kaylee Bell, JJ Bell and Adam Schulte; and one sister: Molly (Dick) Steele of Battle Creek. The family will receive friends at the Richard A. Henry Funeral Home on Friday from 2:00 to 4:00 and 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. with Masonic Services to be held at 7:00 p.m. Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m. Saturday at the Funeral Home with Rev. Linda D. Stoddard of Maple United Methodist Church officiating. Interment will be held 2:00 p.m. Monday at Fort Custer National Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be directed to the Lions of Michigan Service Foundation, 5730 Executive Drive, Lansing, MI 48911 or Maple United Methodist Church.
