Gary R. Lewis, 65, of Homer passed away Tuesday October 15, 2013 at Bronson Battle Creek. He was born on May 19, 1948 in Sturgis, MI to Robert J. and Mary A. (Robinson) Lewis. Gary graduated from Marshall High School in 1966. He was employed by Walmart as a truck driver. Gary was united in marriage to Barbara J. Beneman on June 10, 1967, she preceded him in death on June 22, 2008. He was then united in marriage to Shelia R. Martin on October 19, 2009.
Surviving are his wife, Shelia, children, John F. (Shannon) Lewis, of Battle Creek, Sue (Matt) Siedler, of CO; Larry D. (Barbara) Roberson, of Battle Creek, Michael Roberson, of Marshall, Mark A. (Melanie) Roberson, of Battle Creek, seven grandchildren, one great grandchild, brothers, Roger (Yvonne) Lewis, of Tekonsha, Tom (Vickie) Lewis, of Marshall, and Tony A. (Elizabeth) Lewis, of TX; and a sister, Marilyn (Doug) Bonham, of Falmouth, MI. He was also preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Mary Lewis.
Gary enjoyed racing his stock car and was an avid University of Michigan football fan.
Family will receive friends Friday from 2pm to 4pm and 6pm to 8pm at the funeral home. Funeral services will be held 10 am Saturday October 19, 2013 at the Richard A. Henry Funeral Home with Pastor Brian Perry of the First Baptist Church, Tekonsha, officiating. Inurnment will take place later at Memorial Park Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be given to American Cancer Society.
