Zeretta Lane

Zeretta L. Lane, Age 94, Of Battle Creek, Died Tuesday, January 12, 2016. Zeretta was born on July 9, 1921, in Harrisburg, IL, to Leila and Albert (Burklow) Davis. She married Ralph Lane in Morganfield, KY, on November 20, 1938. She moved to Michigan in 1940 and worked for Kellogg, The Fabric Shop and Fenstemacher’s. She also worked on the elections for the city of Battle Creek and the Lakeview school district. She was a member of Lakeview Baptist Church where she served on the Memorial Scholarship Committee, trustee, deaconate boards and Martha Circle. She is survived by a daughter, Nancy Wagner; 8 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, a son, Jerry Lane; a daughter, Marcia Carle-Sleeper; a brother and sister, Thoral and Zella and a son-in-law, Keith Wagner. In accordance with her wishes cremation has taken place. Visitation will be held Thursday from 4 to 6:00 p.m. at the Richard A. Henry Funeral Home. A Memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Friday, January 15, 2016, at the funeral home with The Rev. Adam Metzger officiating.
