Yvonne O. Cribbs, age 89, of Battle Creek, passed away Saturday, July 25, 2015. She was born July 11, 1926 in Battle Creek, Michigan the daughter of John H. and Sarah E. (Wilber) Budd. Yvonne was a 1945 graduate of Delton Kellogg High School and Wrights Beauty College in 1947. She had worked at the Kellogg Company for 10 years and retired from Michigan Bell Telephone Company as a Control Clerk in 1982 with 26 years of service. Preceding her in death were three husbands: James W. Cooley, Frederick H. Dahnke and the love of her life Robert J. Cribbs on October 30, 1983; one brother: John Henry Budd, Jr.; step-son: David Cribbs; great-grandson: Austin Armstrong and a very dear friend: Arthur VanHorn. She was devoted to her family and is survived by two daughters: Deborah L. Camburn-Simpkins and Denise A. (Michael) Willbur; two step-children: Denny Bell and Sheri Martin; four grandchildren: Christopher (Debra) Cooley, April (Jeff) Armstrong, Galen B. Camburn II and Autumn (Chris) Dayton-Kaser; nine great-grandchildren; eight step-grandchildren and several step great-grandchildren; one sister: Audrey Hydon and several nieces and nephews. She was a member of First United Methodist of Battle Creek, Life Member of Michigan Bell Pioneer, Southwestern Water Color Society, American Legion Post #54 Auxiliary and Burnham Brook. Yvonne was also a 4-H Leader teaching cooking and sewing, volunteered at the Cancer Clinic at Battle Creek Health System, enjoyed raising and racing Sulky Race Horses with her husband Robert Cribbs. She decorated wedding and other specialty cakes, loved watercolor painting and crafts and loved to dance at Burnham Brook. She also enjoyed playing golf while wintering at The Villages of Lady Lake, Florida since 1990 and was a member of the Visual Art Association in Lady Lake. Most of all, she enjoyed spending quality time with her family. Funeral services will be held 12:00 p.m. Wednesday, July 29, 2015 at the Richard A. Henry Funeral Home with Rev. Brad Smith of Grace Community Church officiating. Interment will follow at Hotchkiss Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. today and from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
