William "Buzz" Truxal

William D. “Buzz” Truxal, age 70 of Battle Creek, passed away Tuesday, September 13, 2016.  He was born April 4, 1946 in Wheeling, West Virginia the son of William H. and Elizabeth (Doubleday) Truxal. William was a 1964 graduate of Stranahan High School in Fort Lauderdale, Florida and earned a Bachelor Degree in Business Administration from Florida Atlantic University. Buzz served in the U.S. Marine Corps from 1968 to 1970 and went on to work at the Federal Center from 1980 until his retirement in 2009.  He enjoyed sailing on Lake Michigan for many years. William married Deborah Sue (Stanton) on November 10, 1995 in Las Vegas, Nevada, who survives. He is also survived by his son: Stedmann R. Truxal of Battle Creek; step-daughter: Rachel Smith; two step-sons: Robert and Brad Smith all of Battle Creek; two grandchildren; sister Trudy Gibbons of Gallatin, Texas; niece: Darci Gibbons and nephew: Kelly Leaird. He was preceded in death by his parents. A  Memorial Service will be held 10:30 AM Tuesday, September 20, 2016 at the Richard A. Henry Funeral Home with The Rev. Dr. James M. Gysel officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service and interment will be held at Fort Custer National Cemetery.
