William Wiegand

William E. Wiegand, age 87, of Battle Creek, passed away Saturday, December 26, 2015 at his home. He was born March 18, 1928 in Muskegon, Michigan the son of John and Ida Jane Wiegand. Mr. Wiegand retired from United Steel and Wire where he had worked for over 30 years. He raced Super Modifieds all over the country for many years and loved NASCAR racing. He was an avid bowler as well and enjoyed gardening. On September 10, 1948 he was married to Lillian E.A. (Evans) Wiegand and she preceded him in death on September 22, 2002. He was also preceded in death by his parents; brother, George Wiegand; two sons: William and Larry and a great-granddaughter, Nikki Marie Wiegand. Mr. Wiegand is survived by his children: Craig (Michele) Wiegand and Janell MacCrossen; sixteen grandchildren and forty three great-grandchildren.  Funeral services will be held 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, December 30, 2015 at the Richard A.
