William Baird

William D. Baird, 84, of Battle Creek passed away Tuesday April 24, 2012 at Lifespan Good Samaritan Hospice Residence. He was born on December 14, 1927 in Battle Creek to David S. and Grace (Edwards) Baird. William graduated from Battle Creek Central High School in 1946. He was united in marriage on December 21, 1946 to Mary L. Wilson. He was employed by Eaton Manufacturing in Marshall for 38 years retiring in 1992. Surviving are his wife, Mary, sons, William B. (Barbara) Baird, of Bloomington, IL; John D. (Debra) Baird, of Rockford, MI; and David B. (Cindy) Baird, of Battle Creek, eight grandchildren, four great grandchildren, and a brother, David O. (Marilyn) Baird, of Athens. He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother Fred Baird. William was a member of Battle Creek Friends Church.
Family will receive friends from 2pm to 4pm and 6pm to 8pm Friday April 27, 2012 at the Richard A. Henry Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held 10am Saturday at Battle Creek Friends Church with Pastor Kelly Hadlich officiating.  Interment will follow at Floral Lawn Memorial Gardens. Memorial contributions may be given to Lifespan Good Samaritan Hospice Residence or Battle Creek Friends Church.
