Wilburn D. Thompson, 99, of Battle Creek formerly from Sawyer, passed
away Friday November 29, 2013 at The Oaks of NorthPointe Woods. He was
born on October 18, 1914 in Harrisburg, IL to Walter and Laura
(Wise)Thompson.
He was employed by the Clark Equipment Company for 22 years. He
married Clara Sonnenberg in 1952, she preceded him in death in 1989. He
then married Elizabeth Harris, she also preceded him in death in 2007.
Wilburn spent over 20 winters in Lakeland, Florida.
Surviving are, a son, Wilburn L. Thompson, of Lake Elsinore, CA; his
step-children, Lois Boyd of New Troy, MI; Joann Trapp of Bridgman, MI
and Mona Angolin of Allegan; James Harris, of St. Louis, MO.; John and David Harris, both of Battle Creek, MI; Kenneth Harris, of Atlanta, GA; 26 grandchildren, and 14 great grandchildren and several great-great grandchildren. He was also preceded in death by a son, Richard Thompson and step son Arthur Sonnenberg and George Harris, Jr.
There will be a private family burial at New Troy Cemetery, New Troy,
MI.
