Wayne Raymond

Wayne J. Raymond, age 83, of Battle Creek, passed away Friday, July 18, 2014. He was born June 23, 1931 in Pennfield, Michigan the son of Louis L. and Etta Belle (Pollard) Raymond. Wayne graduated from Lakeview High School in 1949 where he played baseball and went on to play for the Archway Cookie Team. Prior to his retirement, Wayne worked at the Kellogg Company for 24 years. He also installed swimming pools, operated a carpet cleaning business and enjoyed woodworking. He was a member of St. Philip Catholic Church. On October 2, 1953 Wayne was married to Patricia Sevigny in Wrightsville Beach, North Carolina who survives. He is also survived by five children: Marlene (James) Hazdra of Battle Creek, Richard (Sherry) Raymond of Battle Creek, Dianne (Steve) Ferrera of Nevada, Debra (Stanley) Wawzysko of Ceresco and Lynn (Giovanni) Diotaiuti of Chicago, IL; eleven grandchildren;  eighteen great-grandchildren and one great-great grandson. Wayne was preceded in death by his parents, one brother Arthur Raymond and two sisters: Marguerite Heighes II and Helen Fry. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated 12:00 p.m. Tuesday, July 22, 2014 at St. Philip Catholic Church with visitation one hour prior to the service at the church. Interment will follow at Fort Custer National Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be given to Lifespan Good Samaritan Hospice. www.henryfuneralhome.org
