Walter Alfred Kelley, 90, of Madison, Alabama passed away on January 5, 2016. He was born May 10, 1925 in Dayton, Tennessee to Alfred Blevins and Rebecca (Waller) Kelley. He was the youngest of thirteen children. Prior to moving to Alabama in 2001 he was a resident of Battle Creek for 58 years.
He was married to Genevieve Worthington on September 4, 1944 in Battle Creek. She preceded him in death after 62 years of marriage. He worked from 1944 -1976 for Clark Equipment Company and then with Hayes Machine Company of Marshall. He was a member of Calvary Baptist Church.
Throughout his life Mr. Kelley was an avid hunter and fisherman. He enjoyed gardening, trapshooting and reading, and was a lifelong Mason, and Past Master of Battle Creek Masonic Lodge 419 F. & A. M. and a member the Battle Creek Masonic Lodge No 12, F. & A. M.
He is survived by his daughter Dwana Braund and husband Robert. He is also survived by grandchildren Sean Christopher (Karen VanSickler) Braund and Jeffrey Robert (Giovanna) Braund and great grandchildren Alex and Olivia Braund. Numerous nieces and nephews also survive.
Visitation will be on Sunday, January 10th from 2:00-4:00 pm at the Richard A. Henry Funeral Home. A graveside service will be held at 10:00 am, Monday, January 11, 2016 in the Chapel at Floral Lawn Memorial Gardens with Pastor Tom Townsend officiating.
