W. Jean O’Brien, Age 84, Of Battle Creek, Died Sunday, August 21, 2011, in Battle Creek. Jean was born on January 4, 1927, in Battle Creek, the daughter of Glen R. and Mary Marie (Hileman) Miller. She had been a lifelong resident of the area graduating from Battle Creek Central in 1945. On July 3, 1951, she was united in marriage to Robert J. O’Brien who survives. She was employed as a personnel technician at Union Pump Co., retiring in 1988 after 27 years of service where she was known as “Ma O’Brien”. Previously she worked 3 years at the Local 46 Credit Union and Quartermaster Corporation at Fort Custer. Jean was a member of the A.B.W.A. Battle Creek Charter Chapter, Member of Maple United Methodist Church and the Battle Creek Amateur Sports Association. Surviving are children, Carol A. (Gary) Hall of Battle Creek and Mary A. (Danny) Kelly-Dailey of Kalamazoo; 4 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by brothers, Robert G. and Donald L. Miller. Visitation will be held Tuesday from 2 to 4:00 p.m. and 6 to 8:00 p.m. at the Richard A. Henry Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held 11:30 a.m., Wednesday, August 24, 2011, at the funeral home with Pastor Robert Mayo and Pastor David Morton officiating.
