Vivian P. Hoag-Sanderson, age 97, of Sarasota, FL., and formerly of Battle Creek, passed away on March 3, 2021. She was born on March 24, 1923 in Warsaw, IN., the daughter of Glen and Ada (Heagy) Fifer. Vivian graduated in 1941 from Battle Creek Central High School. She lived in Battle Creek until 1961, then moved to Grand Rapids and later moving to Sarasota, Florida. Vivian worked from 1948 until 1960 for the Kellogg Company in the packing department, then worked in the office for Sentry Insurance retiring in 1985. She was a member of the West Lake Presbyterian Church, and a charitable woman’s club in Palmetto, FL. Vivian enjoyed gardening, crocheting, knitting, needlepoint and playing cards. She loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. She was united in marriage in June 1941 to Ray Hoag, he preceded her in death in 1999. In 2000, she remarried Lawrence Sanderson, he preceded her in death in 2003. Vivian was also preceded in death by her parents, sisters; Dorothy Conley, Violet Ray, and Betty Lou Reese. Surviving are her daughters; Sylvia (Eugene) Jones of Battle Creek, Nita Finch of Free Soil, MI., grandchildren; Vicky, Brenda, Julie, Doug, Wendy, 11 great grandchildren and 18 great-great grandchildren. Graveside services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, March 15, 2021 at Floral Lawn Memorial Gardens Cemetery, Rev. Pat Weatherwax officiating.
