Vivian L. Harleston, age 85, of Johnstown Twp., passed away on September 2, 2018. She was born on January 9, 1933 in Battle Creek, the daughter of Burl and Charlotte (Markham) Brott. Vivian was a life long area resident and graduated from Battle Creek Central in 1950. She was employed by Midstate Electric/Union Electric for thirty-five years, retiring in 1984. Vivian was a woman of great faith and dedicated member at Country Chapel, where she enjoyed singing in the choir. She was an avid bowler and fan of the Detroit Tigers. Vivian enjoyed traveling, camping, playing piano, watching the deer and hummingbirds, playing cards and games, and attending family functions. She was united in marriage on January 17, 1953 to Roy Harleston, he preceded her in death in 1997. She was also preceded in death by her parents, sister; Barbara (William) Johnson and a brother; Lewis (Gail) Brott. Surviving are her daughters; Brenda (Mike) Dix of Kalamazoo, Linda (David) Eaton of New York, granddaughter; Trudy (Wade) Stitt of Battle Creek, great grandchildren; Paige and Payton Stitt, and a special friend Bob Gaskill of Dowling, MI. Visitation will be held from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, September 5, 2018 at the Richard A. Henry Funeral Home & Cremation Services. Funeral services are scheduled at 11:00 a.m., on Thursday, September 6, 2018 at Country Chapel United Methodist Church, Dowling, MI., Pastor Rick Foster officiating. Entombment will take place following the service at Memorial Park Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Country Chapel or Glenn Arbor Hospice Residence.
