Virginia "Ginny" Root

Died on Sunday, November 14, 2021, at the Villa at Winston Court, Senior Living Communities. Virginia was born September 19, 1930, in Battle Creek, the daughter of Robert A. and Louise D. (Orr) Hart. She had been a lifelong resident of the area. She was united in marriage to William F. Root in June of 1960. He preceded her in death in 1982. She was employed at Leila Hospital as a nurses aide for 3 years, the Kellogg Company for 6 years and the Vandies Fine Foods for 2 years. Virginia enjoyed knitting, crocheting and babysitting. She is survived by her children, Robert (Lynn) Prough, William (Ginger) Root and Jennylynn( Nona) Prough; step-daughter, Linda Perkins; several grandchildren , great grandchildren and great great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Kim Root, a step-son, Jerry Root and brothers, Richard and Robert Hart. Visitation will be held Thursday, November 18, 2021, from 5 to 7:00 p.m., at the Richard A. Henry Funeral Home and Cremation Services. Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m., Friday, November 19, 2021, at the Memorial Park Cemetery Chapel. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society. www.henryfuneralhome.org
