Virginia Margaret Wenig Thompson, Age 90, Of Battle Creek, Virginia was born December 27, 1922, to parents, Emery and Bernice Wenig in Haskins, OH. She went home to be with the Lord, April 14, 2013. Virginia completed nurses training at Flower Hospital in Toledo, OH, and served her country as a Second Lieutenant Army Nurse during the final months of World War II. Honorably discharged from active duty, she got her B.S. Degree in Nursing Education at Ohio State University. She continued to serve her country as a Psychiatric Nurse at various V.A. hospitals for over thirty years. Virginia concluded her career at Fort Custer V.A. Hospital in Battle Creek. She was preceded in by her husband Carl and her eldest brother Milton Wenig. Virginia is survived by step-daughter, Elaine Smith and brothers, Ward and Robert. She will be sadly missed by her best friend, Lois Waite. The family would like to thank the kind employees of Bickford Place as well as Hospice of Battle Creek.
