Virginia Kay Oliver, age 72, of Battle Creek and formerly of Palmetto, Florida, passed away Friday, May 12, 2017. She was born November 1, 1944 in Lansing, Michigan the daughter of Phillip and Florence (Dangerfield) Richter. Raised in Nashville, Kay enjoyed reading, butterflies and flowers of all types. On August 29, 1975 she was married to George F. Oliver and for the past 34 years they have resided in Florida just recently moving back to Battle Creek to be closer to family. Kay is survived by her husband George; daughter Barb Sebright of Battle Creek; son Tom Pennock of Dearborn Heights; step-daughter Pat Oliver of Battle Creek and step-son Jeff (Tonia) Oliver of Battle Creek; sixteen grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; sister Judy Hoyle of Hastings; brother Terry Richter of Vermontville; brother-in-law David (Rhonda) Oliver of Palmetto, Florida; and several nieces and nephews. Kay was preceded in death by her parents. A Memorial Service to celebrate Kay’s life will be held 12:00 p.m. Thursday, May 18, 2017 at the 20 th Street Church of Christ, 122 N. 20 th Street, with Minister Josh Hydrick officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the church.
