Vera L. Miller, 80, of Battle Creek passed away Monday July 1, 2013 at Heartland Health Care Center. She was born on April 3, 1933 in Anderson, IN to David Harold and Mable Jane (Armfield) Imel.
Vera attended Anderson High School in Anderson, IN. She was united in marriage on August 27, 1980 to Richard L. Miller. Vera had worked at H & R Block, Felpausch in Pennfield, and several local restaurants.
She is survived by her husband, Richard, her children, Vickie (Bruce) Hill, of East Leroy, David Jolley, Timothy Jolley, Jane Slavin, Cynthia (Tim) Mikolajczyk, Anna Miller, Jerry (Terri) Miller, all of Battle Creek, and Margie (Mike) Crittenden, of Marshall, 17 grandchildren, 24 great grandchildren, 2 great great grandchildren, brothers, Orval Imel, of Indianapolis, IN and Earl (Elizabeth) Imel, of Pendleton IN. Vera was preceded in death by her parents, daughters, Elizabeth May Wilsey and Lorie Ellen Jolley, and a sister, Martha Baker.
Vera was a member of Harper Creek Baptist Church and Order of Eastern Star in Bedford. She enjoyed cross-stitching, sewing, reading, and playing cards.
Family will receive friends from 2pm to 4pm and 6pm to 8pm Sunday July 7, 2013 at the Richard A. Henry Funeral Home where an Order of Eastern Star service will be held at 7pm.
Funeral service 10:30am Monday at Harper Creek Baptist Church with Rev. Lester Seal officiating. Interment will follow at Ft. Custer National Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be given to Harper Creek Baptist Church or Heartland Health Care Center.
