Timothy J. Kane, Sr., age 59, of Battle Creek passed away peacefully on Wednesday, July 1, 2015. He was born December 28, 1955 in Battle Creek, Michigan the son of John J. and Patricia A. (Barker) Kane. Tim was a 1974 graduate of Lakeview High School and attended Kellogg Community College. He had worked at ALRO Steel, SPX and Prime Metals, and currently owned his own business, K.P. Wagner, which served the automotive industry. Tim was also an accomplished Poker player. On August 28, 1976 he married his high school sweetheart and the love of his life, Barbara J. Perez, who survives. Also surviving are three children: Lindsay (Bill) Blakeslee of Kalamazoo, Lauren (Matt Odisher) Kane of Battle Creek and Timothy J. (Cecilia) Kane, Jr. of Battle Creek; four grandchildren: Breah and Liam Blakeslee, and Knox and Griffin Odisher; two sisters: Candice (David) Habenicht of Battle Creek and Janet (Dean) Martin of Middlebury, Indiana; sister-in-law:Marguerite Perez of Grand Rapids, Michigan; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents. Tim felt his most important asset in life was his family. He could not have been more proud of his three children and he found his greatest joy watching them as they excelled in several sports. Tim was a true Detroit Tiger and Red Wing fan. The family will receive friends at the Richard A. Henry Funeral Home on Tuesday from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Funeral services will be held 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, July 8, 2015 at the Funeral Home with Rev. Father John Fleckenstein, V.E. of St. Philip Catholic Church officiating. Interment will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery.
