Thelma Nay

Thelma E. Nay, age 90, of Battle Creek, passed away Sunday, July 20, 2014. She was born October 6, 1923 in Battle Creek, Michigan the daughter of Israel Austin and Charlotte (Bacon) DeLano. Mrs. Nay was a member of the First Presbyterian Church and Bedford Chapter #471 Order of the Eastern Star. She enjoyed both square and round dancing and even taught round dancing for several years. Thelma is survived by her daughter, Charlene Huffman; four grandchildren: Annette Howell, George Gary Huffman, Catherine Eileen (David) Bammert and Gregory Earl Huffman; seven great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren; sister, Shirley Ware; brother, William A. DeLano; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents,  a grandson, George Eugene Huffman and brother, Lyle A. DeLano. Funeral services will be held 1:00 p.m. Thursday, July 31, 2014 in the Chapel at Memorial Park Cemetery with Rev. Patricia Weatherwax of First Presbyterian Church officiating.
