Thelma Agne

Thelma Marie Agne, age 94, of Battle Creek, passed away Friday, December 16, 2016 at the Bronson at Home Hospice Residence. She was born April 17, 1922 in Eaton, Ohio the daughter of Alva and Blanche (Deem) Horine. Thelma graduated from Eaton High School in the class of 1941 and married Robert W. Agne on December 17, 1943. She was a homemaker and beautician, and with her husband was active in many church functions while living in Dayton, Ohio, Mobile, Alabama, and Topeka, Kansas before retiring in Battle Creek, Michigan. Thelma was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church, volunteered at the Red Bird Mission, loved camping at Lakeview United Methodist Family Camp, and was an avid quilter and gardener. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, a son David Agne, six brothers: Dwight, Raymond, Ralph, Dale, Junior and Bobby Horine all of Eaton, Ohio, two sisters: Helen Zimmerman of Eaton, Ohio and Mary Davenport of Dallas, Texas. Thelma is survived by her daughter in law, Priscilla Agne of Battle Creek, two grandsons: Eric (Christy) Agne and Jeromy Agne both of Battle Creek, three sisters: Doris Clark and Jean DeHart both of Eaton, Ohio and Joan Schultz of Palmetto, Florida. The family will receive friends at the Richard A. Henry Funeral Home on Tuesday from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Funeral services will be held 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, December 21, 2016 at Trinity United Methodist Church with The Rev. Bruce Kintigh and Rev. David Dryer officiating. Interment will follow at Fort Custer National Cemetery.
