Suzanne Whited

Suzanne Carol Whited, age 76 of Battle Creek, passed away Thursday, June 14, 2012 at her home with her family by her side. She was born September 5, 1935 in Battle Creek, Michigan the daughter of LaVern and Maybelle (Cathcart) Irish and was a 1953 graduate of Lakeview High School. On August 8, 1954 she was married to Bill Whited, together they owned and operated Jackie’s Pizza for over 15 years. She was a member of the Lakeview Baptist Church, Red Hat Society and the Cookie Cutter Club.  Suzanne is survived by three daughters: Becky Mathiak of Elkhart, IN, Brenda Whited of Battle Creek and Beth (Larry) Flanery of Freeland; eight grandchildren: Heather (Adam) Marek, Rob, Ryan and Randy Mathiak, Sarah and Dustin Patterson, Travis Flanery and Sondra (Kelly) Eaton; four great-grandchildren: Ethan, Ben and Aaron Marek and Maize Ryan Mathia;, and one brother: Lloyd (Linda) Irish of Battle Creek. She was preceded in death by her husband Bill on January 16, 2012, one brother Harold Irish and her parents. Funeral services will be held 2:00 p.m. Tuesday at the Richard A. Henry Funeral Home with interment to follow at Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Monday from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. and one hour prior to the service on Tuesday. Memorial contributions may be given to Lifespan Good Samaritan Hospice.
