Steven P. Martinovich, age 91, of Battle Creek, passed away Monday morning, February 06, 2017 at Evergreen Manor surrounded by his loving family. He was born November 22, 1925 in Battle Creek, Michigan the son of Imbro and Francika Martinovich. A 1943 graduate of St. Philip Catholic Central High School he went on to serve in the Army during WWII and was on the Burma Road when the war ended. Steve retired from Post after 43 ½ years of service and was a member of the 25 Year Club and Local #374. He was also a member of Croatian Lodge #533 and the last living member of the “Balkaneers” On February 15, 1947 he was married to Roseann (Myers) Martinovich, who preceded him in death on March 31, 2006. He was also preceded by his parents, one brother and three sisters. Surviving are three sons: James A. (Sherry) Martinovich of Landenberg, Pennsylvania, Timothy A. (Kristie) Martinovich of Battle Creek and Brian A. Martinovich of Battle Creek; four grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren; one sister Bobbi Zidarevich, and many nieces and nephews. Funeral Services will be held 10:00 a.m. Friday, February 10, 2017 at the Richard A. Henry Funeral Home with Minister Josh E. Hydrick of the 20 th Street Church of Christ officiating. Interment will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday from 3:00 to 6:00 p.m. Memorial contributions may be directed to Evergreen Manor Activities Fund.
