Steven Edward Ludlow, age 47, of Marshall passed away unexpectedly Thursday, July 25, 2013 at his home. He was born on October 6, 1965 in Port Huron, Michigan the son of Jack C. and Mary E. (Naylor) Ludlow. He moved to Jackson, MI with his family at the age of 12 where he lived until graduating from Jackson County Western High School at the age of 17. After graduation Steven enlisted in the U.S. Army and held the rank of Staff Sergeant serving with the 7th Special Forces Group (Airborne). He participated in many special operations in foreign countries and became fluent in three languages. He also received many awards and citations. He was honorably discharged after serving his country for 8 years and then went on to college receiving degrees in Electrical Technology and Etymology. Steven was an avid skydiver with over 5000 jumps, a scuba diver, kick boxer, golfer and enjoyed many other sports. He will be extremely missed by his family and many friends. Steven is survived by his parents, Jack and Mary Ludlow of Battle Creek and his brother and sister-in-law: Rob and Terri Ludlow of Schoolcraft; numerous aunts, uncles and cousins; and a special friend, Angela Cross. In accordance with his wishes cremation has taken place. Graveside services with military honors will be held 11:00 a.m. Friday at Fort. Custer National Cemetery, Augusta, MI.
