Stella Flees

Stella Flees, Age 94, Of Battle Creek, Went to be with her Lord, Jesus Christ and join her husband, Jack on Sunday, July 2, 2017, at The Reflections Assisted Living surrounded by her family. Stella was born on April 28, 1923, in Battle Creek, the daughter of George and Mary(Batco) Babic. She had been a lifelong resident of the area and attended Springfield High School. On July 21, 1945, she was united in marriage to Clarence Flees who preceded her in death in 1994. Stella was employed in the packaging department at the Kellogg Company for 32 years until her retirement in 1983. She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church. She was a volunteer at the church and also at Battle Creek Health System. Surviving are her children, Suzanne (Charles) Aitken of Battle Creek, Rodney (Cindy Pritchett) Flees of Kansas City, MO, Mark (Lynn Thomson) Flees of Boynton Beach, FL and Julie (Rolland) Taft of Battle Creek; 6 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren; a sister, Linda McLiechey of Battle Creek. She was preceded in death by brothers, Steve, Pete, Mike and Donald Babic; sisters, Shirley Morris, Helen Tobias, Mildred Hayes and Louise DeShon. Visitation will be held Thursday from 6 to 8:00 p.m. at the Richard A. Henry Funeral Home with a Rosary at 7:00 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held 11:00 a.m., Friday, July 7, 2017 at St. Joseph Catholic Church. Interment will be at Memorial Park Cemetery.
