Stanley P. Zalner, Jr., age 79 of Battle Creek, passed away Wednesday, October 2, 2019. He was born September 18, 1940 in Jackson, Michigan the son of Stanley P. and Marie P. (Taylor) Zalner. Stan was a 1959 graduate of Springfield High School and went to work at Kellogg’s, retiring after 31 years. He was a member of the Kellogg 25 Year Club and enjoyed golfing, NASCAR, drag racing, traveling in his motor home, sailing, gardening and taking care his lawn, and was a collector of antique engines. On October 7, 1961 he married Dawn E. (Woods), who survives. Also surviving are his daughter: Ronna Bagent of East Leroy; two grandchildren: Kevin Bagent and SSgt Sara Bagent, U.S.A.F.; sister: Judy (Ed) Conkell; several nieces and nephews, and his dog Emma. Stan was preceded in death by his parents, son Daniel S. Zalner and two brothers: Tom and John Zalner. The family will receive friends at the Richard A. Henry Funeral Home on Sunday, October 6, 2019 from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. with the Rosary to be recited at 7:00 p.m. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 11:00 a.m. Monday, October 7, 2019 at St. Joseph Catholic Church with interment to follow at Memorial Park Cemetery.
