Stanley K. Sly, age 80, of Bellevue passed away on March 4, 2018 at Bronson-Battle Creek Hospital. He was born on December 21, 1937 in Battle Creek, the son of Arthur and Della (Clark) Sly. He resided in Battle Creek until moving to Bellevue, where he lived for fifty years. Stan was united in marriage in 1968 at the First Nazarene Church to Rose Johnson. He was employed by Jerry’s Marathon Station for over twenty years, where he specialized in Volkswagen repair before opening his own “Stan’s Auto Repair”, until his retirement in 2000. Stan enjoyed farming, hunting, and working on cars. Stan loved the Lord and is rejoicing in his new heavenly home. He was preceded in death by his parents: Arthur and Della Sly, his infant son, granddaughter: Nicole Kidney, sisters: Marion Raab and Doris Brillhart, brothers: Dayton and Durwood Sly.
Stan is survived by his loving wife Rose, daughters: Victoria (Bart) Walker of Ceresco, Lori (Ron) Avers of Jackson, sons: Eugene (Ellen) Sly of Alston, Rick (Kathy) Sly of Hickory Corners, brother: Duane Sly of Battle Creek, sister: Jo Ann (George) Green of Battle Creek, eight grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. Visitation will be held from 10:00 am till 12:00 pm on Saturday, March 10, 2018 at the Battle Creek Friends Church, 1305 Olive Street, where funeral services will follow, Rev. Robert Zuhl officiating. Interment will take place at 10:30 am on Monday, March 12, 2018 at Ellis Cemetery. Condolences may be left for the family at www.henryfuneralhome.org
