Sidney Webb

Sidney J. “Sid” Webb, Age 79, Of Battle Creek, Died Sunday, April 17, 2016, in Battle Creek. Sid was born on September 17, 1936, in Nashville, MI, the son of Louie E. and Arleta E. (Swift) Webb. He had been an area resident for 62 years and was a 1955 graduate of Marshall High School. He married Marilyn McKee which ended in divorce. He then married the former Doreatha A. Fairchild on August 26, 2001, who survives. Sid worked for Michigan Bell for 30 years as a technician retiring in 1998. He attended Newton United Methodist Church, enjoyed wood working, furniture, music boxes and fast cars. Surviving are children Debra Lynn (Dale) Shugars, James Michael (Melissa) Webb, John “Jack” S. (Kathy) Webb, Kathryn J. Kanne and Michael Douglas (Beth Childress) Webb; 11 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren; brothers, Lynn E. (Sukey) Webb, Douglas D. (Becky) Webb and sister-in-law, Barbara Webb. He was preceded in death by a brother, Russell E. Webb. In accordance with his wishes cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, April 30, 2016, at the Newton United Methodist Church, 8804 F Drive S, Ceresco, MI, with Pastor Richard Wilson officiating. Visitation will be held from 1 to 2:00 p.m., prior to the service.
