Shirley E. Ogden, 89, of Battle Creek passed away Monday September 16, 2013 at home.
She was born on September 22, 1923 in Petoskey, MI to Dayton E. and Johanna (Swanson) Riter.
Shirley was united in marriage on May 19, 1945 in Beloit, WI to Raymond J. Ogden, he preceded her in death in 1977. She was employed by the Kellogg Company for 26 years. Shirley enjoyed gardening, flowers, the casino, spending time with her grandchildren and her cat Junebug. She was a member of the Kellogg 25 Year Club.
Surviving are her children, Rosalee (Howard) Holt, of Battle Creek, Gloria Treadwell, of Dowling, Joseph E. Ogden, and Steven D. (Nora) Ogden, both of Battle Creek, nine grandchildren, four step-grandchildren, twenty five great grandchildren. She was also preceded in death by two brothers, Clarence and Arnold Riter.
Graveside services will be held 1pm Thursday September 19, 2013 at Floral Lawn Memorial Gardens. Please wear casual attire per her request. Memorial contributions may be given to Lifespan Good Samaritan Hospice. A special “thanks” to her daughter-in-law, Nora Ogden for her loving care of our mother
