Sharon Pauline Ott, age 76, of East Leroy, Michigan passed away on October 31, 2024 surrounded by her family at Rose Arbor Place in Kalamazoo. She was born on November 9, 1947, in Battle Creek, the daughter of Harold and Leokadya (Mleczewski) Root. Sharon was a devoted woman of faith. She was a lifelong area resident of Battle Creek, graduate of Harper Creek High School in 1965, and attended Western Michigan University. She was a homemaker and previously employed as an Order Management Specialist for the Kellogg Company before retiring in 1994. She enjoyed Quilting, genealogy, ceramics, gardening, rock collecting along with hosting and serving on the chase crew for the Battle Creek Balloon Championship. Although Sharon had many hobbies and interests, her favorite thing to do was spending time and making memories with her family, especially her grandchildren. Sharon was preceded in death by her parents. In 1970, she married the love of her life of 54 years, David Ott, he survives. Also surviving are her children; Aimee (Dan) Lang of East Leroy, Leokadya “Loja” Edson of Sturgis, Dustin (Jennifer) Ott of East Leroy, grandchildren; Derek (Kendall) Teegardin, Logan (Abby) Edson, Hunter Edson, and great granddaughter, Olivia Teegardin. Graveside service scheduled for 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, November 5, 2024, at Fort Custer National Cemetery with Pastor Paul Parker of Cornerstone Community Church officiating.
