Sarah Auble

Sarah Ellen Auble, age 99 of Battle Creek, passed away at The Legacy at the Oaks on Saturday, January 24, 2015. She was born September 25, 1915 in Battle Creek, Michigan the daughter of Eugene and Pauline (Boettcher) Wedel, the youngest of nine siblings. Sarah graduated from high school in Huntington, West Virginia in 1934 and that same year she married Jack Rae Auble in Greenup, Kentucky. Returning to Battle Creek they started their family. Sarah began working at the Kellogg Company in 1952 and retired in 1981 after 29 years of service. Throughout life Sarah enjoyed family and all their activities, crafts and nurturing her amazing gardens. Surviving are her daughters: Virginia (Delbert) Nolan of Manistee and Janet (Bill) Clawson of Battle Creek; daughter-in-law: Barbara Auble of Battle Creek; five grandchildren: Christopher (Ellen) Auble and Jennifer Auble of Cape Coral, FL, Tina Clinton of Highlands Ranch, CO, Kelli (Jason) Schmitt of Newnan, GA and Connie (Roger) Green of Battle Creek; eight great-grandchildren and two step great-grandchildren. Sarah was preceded in death by her husband of 69 years Jack R. Auble in 2002, son Robert L. Auble in 1989, parents Eugene and Pauline Wedel and brothers: Harold, Harley, Joseph, Clarence, John and Fred Wedel; and sisters: Alberta McDowell and Rachel Baker. A graveside memorial service will be held Friday, May 8, 2015 at 1:00 p.m. at Memorial Park Cemetery.
