Sandra Lucile Heath passed away Sunday February 25, 2024, at her home in Woodlawn Meadows in Hastings Michigan. She was born on April 30, 1951, in Battle Creek Michigan to Robert and Lucile (Dornfelt) Broach. Sandy was raised in Battle Creek and moved to Delton her senior year of high school and graduated in 1969. This is where she met her beloved husband of 53 years, Robert J. Heath. They married a year later on December 27, 1970, and began their life's adventure together.
They have two daughters, Kristin (Craig) Jones, and Elizabeth (Michael) Chambers. There are five grandchildren Kaylee Chambers, Katelynn Jones, Sydney Chambers, Josie Jones, and Myles Chambers. Sandy is also survived by her mother Lucy Broach, brother-in-law Michael (Aletta) Heath and her sister-in-law Karen Broach. She was preceded in death by her Husband Bob Heath on June 28, 2023, her father Bob Broach, and her brother Randy Broach.
Sandy spent time working at the Delton Kellogg Schools, and in the Occupational Health field in administration. She attended Spring Arbor College and graduated in 1997 where she earned a Bachelor of Art degree.
Cruising was an activity that Sandy and Bob enjoyed together in their retirement. They traveled to Hawaii, Fiji, and Italy among other fun destinations. They enjoyed spending some vacation time in Arizona as well as some fun weekend excursions with their daughters and their families.
Sandy was an avid crafter but really found her calling in cross stitch and quilting. Making many pieces for her friends and family to enjoy for years to come. Her work is exemplary. She was a member of two sewing clubs where she created many projects, and even taught a few project demonstrations herself. She also enjoyed shopping sprees with her girls and on her fabrics. Of course, her greatest hobby was spending time with family, especially her grandchildren, who she had a special affinity for. Their love, laughter, and loyalty through the tough times just made her love them all the more.
A service to celebrate the lives of both Sandra and Robert will be held 1:30 p.m. Friday March 8, 2024, at the Richard A. Henry Funeral Home in Battle Creek with visitation from 12:30 p.m. to 1:30 p.m. Interment will follow at Fort Custer National Cemetery with Military Honors for her husband Robert J. Heath. www.henryfuneralhome.org
