Samuel J. Orns

Samuel Joe Orns, 76, of Marshall, Michigan, passed away unexpectedly at home on January 16, 2025. He was born on September 22, 1948, in Battle Creek, Michigan, to Richard E. and Mildred B. (Johnson) Orns. Sam grew up in Battle Creek, graduating from Harper Creek High School in 1966. He was employed by the Kellogg Company and retired after 33 years of service. Sam enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his six grandchildren and especially enjoyed watching his youngest granddaughter, Ella Rose, achieve milestones. Sam enjoyed working on cars and helping others with repairs and projects and was always available and willing to lend a hand to help with anything they needed. Sam is survived by his three children: Shelli (Larry) Laubengayer, Christy (Scott) Woodard and Dustin (Katie) Orns; six grandchildren: Trevor Laubengayer, Lauren Evon, Austin Woodard, Paislee, Brogan, and Ella Orns; one brother Richard E. Orns and one sister Charilyn Orns; and a close friend and ex-wife Jayne Orns. He was preceded in death by his parents, first wife Jeannie (Hatmaker) Orns, second wife Diana (Goodwin) Orns, and brother James Alfred Orns. In accordance with his wishes, cremation has taken place and no services are scheduled. A private family graveside service will be held at a later date. Arrangements by the Richard A.
