Ruth Andres

Ruth A.  Andres,95, of Battle Creek died Thursday, June 28, 2012, at Heartland Health Care Center. Ruth was born on November 29, 1916 in Canton, NC, the daughter of John and Clara (Cook) Medford. She was born and raised in North Carolina and then moved to Michigan after her marriage to Howard D. Andres who preceded her in death in 1990. She was employed at Post Cereal, Grand Leader, Toeller’s, Robinson’s and then Cole’s department store. Ruth was a member of the First United Methodist Church, the American Legion, American Business Women’s Assoc., Christian Singles and the Hospital Auxiliary.  Surviving are children, Robert (Linda) Andres and Kathleen (Michael) St. John both of Battle Creek; grandchildren, Mark (Patti) and Hope Andres of Battle Creek, Michael St. John of Chicago; great grandchildren, Marissa, Isabella and Antonio Andres; twin sister, Lucy Turner of Battle Creek; sister, Betty Aides of Florida and brother, Boyd Medford of North Carolina. Visitation will be held Sunday from 3 to 5:00 p.m. at the Richard A. Henry Funeral Home.  A time of reflection of Ruth’s life will be held at 2:30 p.m. Private interment will be held at Floral Lawn Memorial Gardens.
