Roy L. VanDorsten, age 71, of Marshall, passed away Monday, May 30, 2016 at Eaton Community Palliative Care. He was born September 19, 1944 in Battle Creek, Michigan the son of Richard A. and Dorothy M. (Custer) VanDorsten. A graduate of Pennfield High School, Roy went on to work at the Eaton Corporation for 18 years and later retired from VanDorsten Trucking Company. On December 12, 1997 he was married to the former Pamela D. (Pecotte-Britten) who survives. Also surviving are his son: Keith (Suzy) VanDorsten; two grandsons: Brian (Samantha) VanDorsten and Garrett (Tanita) VanDorsten; two granddaughters: Kaitlin and Karley VanDorsten; one great-grandson: Brian VanDorsten III; four brothers: David and Sandra, Tom and Anelda, Todd and Colleen, Tim and Brenda VanDorsten; two sisters-in-law: Brenda and Susan VanDorsten; and many nieces and nephews. Roy was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers: Ted and Richard. He loved spending time with his family as well as hunting and fishing. Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m. Saturday at the Richard A. Henry Funeral Home with Rev. John Lippard of Calvary Baptist Church officiating. Interment will follow at Floral Lawn Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service on Saturday.
