Ross E. Jones, age 87, of Battle Creek, passed away Wednesday, April 2, 2014 at the Lifespan Good Samaritan Hospice Residence. He was born January 16, 1927 in Battle Creek, Michigan the son of Herbert Otto and Marion (Austin) Jones. Ross served in the U.S. Navy during WWII and following his discharge attended Cass Tech. He was a power plant operator for Consumers Power for several years and retired from the V.A. Hospital in Battle Creek. Ross was a life member of the Masonic Lodge and was also a member of the Corvette Club. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Virginia and second wife, June. Surviving are three sons: James (Elaine) Resler of Westland, MI, Ross E. Jones, Jr. of Austin, TX and Ken (Sherry) Beninghaus of Battle Creek; eight grandchildren and several great-grandchildren. Graveside services will be held 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, April 8, 2014 in the Chapel at Memorial Park Cemetery with Rev. Linda D. Stoddard of Maple United Methodist Church.
