Rosemary Carr, 86, of Battle Creek passed away Saturday January 12, 2013 at Bronson Battle Creek. She was born on October 3, 1926 in Battle Creek to Earl and Louise (Koeing) Campbell.
Rosemary graduated from Battle Creek Central High School in 1943. She was united in marriage on July 23, 1943 to her childhood sweetheart, Raymond G. Carr. They celebrated 64 happy years together before Ray’s passing on June 23, 2007. Rosemary was employed by the Federal Center for 32 years, retiring in the fall of 1982. In this position, she exceled at interpersonal communication with her staff and developed a rapport with everyone she encountered.
Rosemary is survived by her three sons, Scott M. (Jill) Carr, of Augusta, John T. (Teresa) Carr, of Battle Creek, and Thomas M. (Lori) Carr, of Kalamazoo, eleven grandchildren, eleven great grandchildren, a special niece, Sherri Brown, of Battle Creek, her older twin brother, Robert Campbell, of Lexington, MI, and a sister, Edna Latta, of Battle Creek. She was also preceded in death by three brothers, Harry, William, and Art Campbell.
Rosemary will be remembered for her quick wit, strong will, outspoken personality, love of cocker spaniels, her “classy” red Cadillacs, and elegant fashion sense. Rosemary loved her family and friends and was loved in return. She will be deeply missed and never forgotten by all who had the pleasure of knowing her. Her spirit will live on through our shared stories and laughter.
Visitation will be held from 5pm to 8pm Wednesday at the funeral home.
Funeral services will be held 1 pm Thursday January 17, 2013 at the Richard A. Henry Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Ft. Custer National Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be given to the Humane Society of South Central Michigan.
