Ronald Trumbull

Ronald H. “Fly” Trumbull, Age 59, Of Battle Creek, Passed peacefully on Monday, July 8, 2013, at his residence. Ronald was born on August 13, 1953, in Battle Creek, the son of Henry S. and Bettylou Bell (Birdzell) Trumbull. He had been a lifelong resident of the area graduating from Harper Creek High School and then attended Kellogg Community College. He was employed with Eaton Corporation in Marshall, MI, retiring after 30 years of service when the plant closed operations. He was a proud member of the UAW Local 220 Union and served a term as their president at the Marshall location. He was an avid U of M sports and NASCAR fan following his favorite driver Dale Earnhardt, Jr. Fly also never missed a Kentucky Derby. He enjoyed camping, horse racing and loved music playing in several area bands as a drummer. He leaves behind family and friends that will truly miss him. Surviving are a son, Ronald (Courtney)Trumbull II of Waterford, MI; a daughter, Amber (Rob) McCarty of Kalamazoo, MI; a brother, Randall (Romona Patterson) Trumbull of East Leroy, MI; 3 grandchildren, Hailey, Abigail and Lillian McCarty. He was preceded in death by his parents and a nephew, Randall Trumbull, Jr. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m., Friday, July 12, 2013, at the Richard A. Henry Funeral Home with The Rev. Dr. Morris F. Anderson officiating. Visitation will be held 1 hour prior to the service. Entombment will be held at Memorial Park Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society.
