Ronald Deboer

Dr. Ronald P. DeBoer, 85, went to be with the Lord on Monday, January 30, 2023 in Battle Creek. Born November 12, 1937 in Grand Rapids to the late Peter and Eleanor (Van Oostendorp) DeBoer. He is survived by his loving wife of 40 years, Marty (Gibson) DeBoer, Daughter Laurel Gebben (Brad), R. Scott DeBoer (Kristin), Mike DeBoer (Lyn) and Michele Nunnelley (Darrell), 10 grandkids and 11 great grandkids. Dr. Ron was a retired psychologist of over 40 years and a proud alumnus of Michigan State University. His private practice of over 20 years, Oakridge Counseling Center helped many throughout Battle Creek and the surrounding areas. Before starting his private practice, he was a psychologist for Harper Creek School System, Plainwell Institute and the Battle Creek Sanitarium. He was also President and founder of the first AMBUCS Chapter (American Business Club) in Battle Creek. Ron was known for his kindness, love for his family, a loyal MSU Spartan and traveling to Florida to spend time with his kids and grandkids. He was passionate about trains and Dutch history.

Celebration of Life will be held at 11:00 a.m., Friday, February 10, 2023 at Battle Creek Friends Church, 1305 Olive Street, Battle Creek, Michigan.  In lieu of Flowers, memorial contributions may be made in honor of Dr Ron DeBoer to American Kidney Fund. Memories and condolences may be shared with the family at www.henryfuneralhome.org
