Roger Kevern

Passed away unexpectedly on Friday, June 1, 2018. Roger was born in Lansing, MI, on December 24, 1951, to Agnes (Connie) M. (Boyden) and Donald Richard Kevern. He graduated from Lakeview High School in 1970 and soon after started working at Graphic Packaging (formerly Michigan Paperboard). He retired after 42 years as a stock prep supervisor in September 2016. Roger enjoyed bowling, camping, fishing and most of all spending time with his family and friends. Roger was known as a “handyman” by all, enjoying remodeling his home and home projects for family and friends. Roger especially liked watching the New England Patriots and Michigan Wolverines football as well as other sports. Roger was preceded in death by his parents, a sister, Karen Groves; step-daughter, Debbie Decowski, a brother-in-law, Larry Hursley; a brother David and a brother-in-law, Jeff Altena. Roger is survived by his loving wife of 18 years the former Gail Hursley; a brother, Charles “Mike” (Debra); a daughter, Keri (Dan) Finch; grandsons, Bodhi, David (Stephanie) Decowski; grandsons, Zak and Aiden Clements; sister-in-law, Annette Altena and brother-in-law, Ed Hursley. In accordance with his wishes cremation has taken place. The family will gather privately, and a memorial luncheon will be held at Miller’s Time Out on Helmer Road, Battle Creek on Sunday, June 10th at 4:00 p.m. Arrangements by the Richard A.
