Roberta “Bobbie”  Coats, Age 86, Of Battle Creek, Bobbie passed away March 5, 2013.  She was born December 2, 1926. She is the daughter of Harold and Ethel (Forward) Evans who preceded her in death, along with a brother, Deloss, and a sister Virginia.  Bobbie was married to Arthur J. Coats, Sr. for 47 wonderful years, he preceded her in death on September 20, 2003. Bobbie graduated from Lakeview High School in 1944. She worked for the Kellogg Co., for 42 years. She was a member of the Kellogg 25 Year Club- Kellogg’s Retirees Association and Grain Millers Retirees Union. Bobbie has two children, Arthur J. (Kim) Coats, Jr., of Battle Creek and Victoria (Jerry) Luis of Lansing, MI; four grandchildren, Jason (Alesha) Coats of Augusta, MI, Amanda Luis of Lansing, MI, Kevin (Tammie) Kemerling of Battle Creek and Craig (Alaine) Kemerling of Kentwood, MI; five great grandchildren, Kollin and Kelsie Kemerling of Battle Creek, Addison J. and Josiah T. Kemerling of Kentwood, MI, and Madison Marie Coats of Augusta, MI; a niece, Sandy (David) Jacob of Battle Creek. Bobbie liked to bowl and walk in the mall. She enjoyed going out to eat with friends, but most of all she enjoyed time with her family. Funeral Services will be held 11:00a.m., Monday, March 11, 2013, at the Richard A. Henry Funeral Home with Pastor Robert J. Mayo of Chapel Hill United Methodist Church officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society or a charity of one’s choice.
