Died Wednesday, August 23, 2017, at Bickford Senior Living. Robert was born on January 10, 1925, in Detroit, MI, the son of James V. and Rose (Schulte) Willoughby. He had been an area resident since 1946 coming from Pasadena, CA. He was a veteran serving in the U.S. Army during WWII. On January 6, 1947, he was united in marriage to the former Glennerose Warren who preceded him in death in 2010. Robert was employed as a Distribution Manager at the Kellogg Company for 25 years retiring in 1986. He was a member of the Kellogg 25 Year Club and the American Legion Post 54. He was an avid reader, Tiger’s fan and enjoyed mind puzzles. Most of all he loved being with his family, especially taco nights, holiday gatherings and spending time talking with loved ones. He always showed concern in everyone else’s lives and wellbeing above his own. He will be cherished and remembered as a loving husband, caring father, a wonderful grandfather and great grandfather. Surviving are his sons, Robert Lee (Sandi) Willoughby of Clayton, NC and Chris (Rebecca) Willoughby of Battle Creek; grandchildren, Brandy, Lacey, Christopher, Gregory, Ryan and Jerry; great grandchildren, Lee, Conner, Autumn, Robert and Emma; a sister, Dorothy “Dottie” Forthum of Pasadena, CA. Visitation will be held Sunday, August 27, 2017,  from 3 to 6:00 p.m., at the Richard A. Henry Funeral Home. A private graveside service will be held at Fort Custer National Cemetery.
