Robert Lee Plushnik, age 83, of Ceresco, passed away Monday, January 29, 2018. He was born January 11, 1935 in Newton Township, Michigan the son of Ernest and Alta May (Schwark) Plushnik. A 1952 graduate of Lakeview High School, he went on to serve in the U.S. Air Force from December 1952 until August 1957. Bob had worked at Eaton Corporation and Rockwell International, and was an over the road trucker, but most of all loved farming. He was an excellent mechanic and enjoyed NASCAR and racing at Butler Speedway. On August 28, 1958 he was married to Mary Jeanne (Halder) in Battle Creek who survives. He is also survived by five children: Linda Bailey of Leonidas, Mike Plushnik of Marshall, Tony (Jeanine) Plushnik of Ceresco, Dawn (David) Black of Three Rivers and Harry (Naomi) Plushnik of Battle Creek; twelve grandchildren; twenty-one great-grandchildren; three sisters: Berniece Parker of Marshall, Nina Halder of East Leroy and Helen (Don) Askew of Ceresco; two brothers in law: Ralph Bates and Dennis Casey; sister in law Sara Plushnik; and many nieces and nephews. Bob was preceded in death by his parents, grandson Josh Parsons, brother Larry Plushnik, sister Joanne Casey, two brothers in law: Lee Halder and Fred Parker, and a sister in law Bonnie Bates. The family will receive friends at the Richard A. Henry Funeral Home on Thursday, February 1, 2018 from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. A private graveside service will be held at Fort Custer National Cemetery.
