Robert Peters, Jr.

Robert Wallace Peters, Jr., age 86 of Newington, New Hampshire, and formerly of Battle Creek, passed away Tuesday, December 18, 2018. He was born January 1, 1932, in Lansing, Michigan, the son of Robert Wallace and Alice Marie (Killila) Peters, Sr. He graduated from Sexton High School in Lansing in 1950. He served in the U.S. Army from 1952-1954, stationed in Germany. Bob worked at Regional Medical Labs as a courier for 15 years following his retirement from K-Mart after 30 years, where he fulfilled many roles from inventory manager to department manager. He was an active member of St. Joseph Catholic Church and the St. Vincent DePaul Society. He enjoyed boating and was an avid Michigan State University sports fan. On January 16, 1960, he married Barbara J. Secord, who preceded him in death on May 14, 2000. He was also preceded by two sisters: Lois Marie White and Joan Rita Miller, and two brothers: Jon and Paul Peters. Surviving are his children: Lynne Marie Preston of Southfield, Catherine Anne Ramunno and her husband, Lawrence, of Newington, NH, and Timothy Robert Peters of Battle Creek; five grandchildren: Monica Marie Preston, Eric Michael Preston, Leslie Rae Preston, Sarah Fowler and her husband, Simon, and Philip Ramunno; his great-granddaughter, Isla Grace Fowler; his brother-in-law, Ward Miller; sister-in-law, Patricia Klusendorf, and 13 nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends at the Richard A. Henry Funeral Home on Friday from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. with the Rosary to be recited at 7:00 p.m. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Saturday, December 22, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church.
