Robert Morduff

Robert L. Morduff, 91, of Battle Creek passed away Saturday July 13, 2013 at The Heritage Assisted Living Community. He was born on February 22, 1922 in Battle Creek to Isaac D. and Millie E. (Peck) Morduff.

Bob served with the U.S. Army during WWII in Europe. He was employed by the Kellogg Company for 41 years. Bob was a member of the First United Methodist Church and the Kellogg 25 Year Club. He enjoyed fishing, playing the organ and piano, dancing with Betty, and reading his Bible every day. Bob loved dogs and was also known for his talent of telling jokes. He was very handy with tools and was an excellent craftsman. Bob helped out friends and even strangers whenever he could. He will be greatly missed by any and all who knew him.

Surviving is a son, Michael R. (Rose) Morduff, a grandson, Michael R. (Jackie) Morduff II, both of Battle Creek, three step-great grandchildren, and five step-great great grandchildren, a very special friend, Betty Shelton, of Battle Creek, several nieces, nephews, and cousins. He held a special place in his heart for his twin step-great great grandsons, Landin and Christian. Bob had a very special relationship with his nephew and niece, John and Audrey Ward in FL. Also the many friends that he worked with and made throughout his incredible life. Robert was preceded in death by his first wife, Lucille E. (Birdsong) Morduff in 1983, his second wife, Lillian A. (Kinder-Gastain) Morduff in 1999, two brothers, and a half-sister. It was a special honor for his grandson and granddaughter-in-law to take care of him.

Visitation will be held from 2pm to 4pm and 6pm to 8pm Wednesday at the funeral home. Funeral services will be held 1:30pm Thursday July 18, 2013 at the Richard A. Henry Funeral Home with Rev. Billie Dalton of First United Methodist Church officiating. Interment will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be given to American Cancer Society or charity of one’s choice.
