Robert Mcmillan

Robert D. McMillan, age 76 of Battle Creek, died Friday, December 7, 2012 at the Lifespan Good Samaritan Hospice Residence. He was born December 8, 1935 in Battle Creek, Michigan the son of Sterling R. and Marguerite A. (Conners) McMillan. Bob retired from Kraft Foods after 35 years of service and was an active member of Bethel Baptist Church where he had served as a Deacon. On January 20, 1979 he was married to Jewell (Looper) who survives. Also surviving are six sons: Gary (Penny) McMillan, Donny (Cathy) Green, Danny (Tara) Green, David Green, Dennis (Judy) Green and Terry Sly; two daughters: Vicki (Chuck) McMillan and Denise (Tony) Radi; seventeen grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; one brother: Bill (Margaret) McMillan and many nieces and nephews. Bob was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters-in-law: Joann Pickett and Hazel Chadwick; and three brothers-in-law: Robert Dull, Bobby Looper and Fred Looper. He loved the outdoors, hunting up north, bird watching and feeding the animals on his property. Bob also enjoyed building things and could fix anything that needed to be fixed. Helping others in the church and caring for family and friends was part of his everyday chores. Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m. Tuesday at the Richard A. Henry Funeral Home with Pastor Randy Stewart officiating. Interment will follow at Floral Lawn Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at the funeral home this evening from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. Memorial contributions may be given to the church.
