Robert E. Everest, 84, of Battle Creek died Tuesday March 29, 2011 at Borgess Medical Center. He was born on November 13, 1926 in Battle Creek to Sidney E. and Meda (Minges) Everest. Robert graduated from Lakeview High School in 1944. He served in the U.S. Army during WW II. Robert married JoAnn Dugger on January 22, 1948 in Battle Creek. He was employed by the Kellogg Company for 26 years retiring in 1986.
Robert is survived by his wife, JoAnn, five children, Brian E. Everest, Brent K. Everest, and Crystal J. Yost, all of Battle Creek, Bryant L. (Linda) Everest, of Coldwater, and Stacey L. (Paul) Tyler, of Mattawan, twelve grandchildren, eight great grandchildren and a sister, Barbara Aldrich, of Battle Creek. He was preceded in death by his parents, and a brother, Sidney L. Everest Jr. Robert was a member of the Kellogg 25 Year Club and a Master Mason at Masonic Lodge #220 in Athens. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, dune bugging, three wheeling, off road vehicles, and camping. Services will be held 10:30am Friday April 1, 2011 at Floral Lawn Memorial Gardens Chapel with Rev. Jim Spohn of First Church of The Nazarene officiating. The visitation will be held one hour before services at the cemetery chapel. Arrangements are by the Richard A. Henry Funeral Home. Memorial contributions may be given to Masonic Lodge #220 in Athens.
