Richard E. Wilder, age 72 of Battle Creek, passed away Monday, November 12, 2012. He was born December 19, 1939 in Bean Station, Tennessee the son of Ralph and Mildred (Ankrom) Wilder. Dick loved to hunt and fish, enjoyed working on old cars and NASCAR. He was a fan of baseball and football and especially liked watching the Detroit Tigers, Detroit Lions, and Michigan football. Dick worked at Kellogg’s for 10 years and then retired from Post after 20 years. He was a member of the P.N.A. Club. On August 9, 1958 he was married to Linda L. (Hardy) who survives. Also surviving are four children: Laura (Jim) Cash of Battle Creek, Johanna Tullis of Mattawan, Teresa Kellogg of Mattawan and James Wilder of Battle Creek; seven grandchildren: Nick, Brandy and Jamie; Travis and Brianna; Meredith and Shay; seven great-grandchildren; four sisters: Mary Shirk, Barb (Dick) Butzirus, Marge Nixon and Lil (Bill) Jarress; and sister-in-law: Doris Wilder. Dick was preceded in death by his parents and one brother: Ralph Wilder Jr. The family will receive friends at the Richard A. Henry Funeral Home on Thursday from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m. Friday at the funeral home with interment to follow at Floral Lawn Memorial Gardens.
