Richard L. “Dick” Wallace, Age 86, Of Battle Creek, Went to be with his Lord and Savior Friday, October 7, 2016, at Bronson at Home Hospice Residence. Dick was born on October 24, 1929, in Bloomington, IN, the son of Ben L. and Elizabeth (Settle) Wallace. He was a veteran serving in the U.S. army during the Korean War. He received a bachelor’s degree from Indiana University in 1951. On January 27, 1952, he was united in marriage to the former Marilyn L. Eaton who survives. Dick had been an area resident since 1969 coming from Zionsville, IN. Dick worked for Essex Wire in Logansport, IN, from 1953to 1954, Indianapolis Life Insurance Co., from 1954 to 1967, People’s Home Life Insurance Co., from 1967 to 1969, Vice President of 20th Century Guardian Life from 1969 to 1982 and then as an agent for Nationwide Insurance Co., from 1982 to 1997. He was a member of First Christian Church, Elder Emeritus and a 60 years Masonic Lodge Member. Surviving are his children, Mary Lynn Kovach (Frank) of Kalamazoo, Christina Wright (Brian) of Zionsville, IN, Mark R. Wallace (Julie) of Kalamazoo and Brenda Sanchez (Dionisio) of Battle Creek; 9 grandchildren and 1great grandchild. He was preceded in death by 1 brother and 3 sisters. Funeral services will be held at 7:00 p.m., Tuesday, October 11, 2016, at the funeral home. Visitation will be held Tuesday from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. prior to the service. Internment with full military honors will be held at 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, October 12, 2016 at Fort Custer National Cemetery.
