Richard Schroder

Richard Scott (Dick) Schroder, 80, of Battle Creek MI passed away Sunday, November 1 ^st , 2020 at Ascension Borgess Hospital in Kalamazoo, Michigan.

Dick was born February 3 ^rd , 1940 in Battle Creek, MI to the late Aaron and Helen Schroder. He was a 1958 graduate of Lakeview High School, retired from Eaton Corporation after 30 years of employment, and worked several years for J & J Sheet Metal.

Dick was united in marriage to Dianna Decker February 29 ^th , 1964. He was survived by his wife of 57 years and 3 children: Dawn (Jeff) Price of Middlebury, IN; Gordon (Terri) Schroder of Battle Creek; Rich (Becky) Schroder of Battle Creek; sister; Donna Wheatley of Yankee Springs, 8 grandchildren Joseph Price, Katelyn Price, Scottlyn Schroder, Tomas Schroder, Tristan Schroder, Jackson Schroder, Megan (Andy) Jantos and Ryan Vosburg; 1 great-grandchild Julien Jantos, niece; Denise Lemire, and nephew; John Henning.

Dick enjoyed nature and everything that Michigan has to offer from deer hunting to snowmobiling, swimming, and water skiing. In his retirement years, he did woodworking and loved feeding the birds and squirrels. He loved teaching his grandchildren and spending time with them. He attended many sporting events from shooting, basketball, baseball, football, and dance recitals. You name it, he was there. He loved his family.

Visitation will be held from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, November 4, 2020 at the Richard A. Henry Funeral Home & Cremation Services.  Funeral services are scheduled 10:00 a.m., Thursday, November 5, 2020 at the funeral home, with interment to follow at Morgan Cemetery.  Memorial contributions may be made to Fudd Dusters shooting team.  Condolences and memories may be left for the family at www.henryfuneralhome.org
